This summer has been great for the herbs in our distillery garden! They’ve been growing apace, so when the team was brainstorming new syrups for our late summer menu, we had a hard time picking just one herb to feature. We decided, why not try them all! The classic folk song manages to, and it turns out that parsley, sage, rosemary & thyme is a winning combination.
Combine those rich herbal notes with the layered botanicals of Dearborn Gin, with bright lemon juice & frothy egg white, and they make an intriguing cocktail with deep layers. It’s perfect for this bridge season between summer & fall!
Clarion Call
2 oz Dearborn Gin
1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
¾ oz Scarborough Fair Simple (also delicious with a rosemary simple)
¾ oz Egg White
Add ingredients to shaker, then shake without ice. Add ice & shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass, then garnish with a sprinkling of dried herbs in a line over the top.
P.S. wondering where the name comes from? It’s a phrase from the lyrics in the Simon & Garfunkel version.
