This week, as we prepare for one of our favorite events of the year, we are thinking about classic cocktails from the 1920s and 1930s. So we decided to celebrate a riff on an even older classic as our Drink of the Week this week. Old Fashioneds were still popular in that era, even if they were developed several decades earlier.

This one sounds really crazy, but is actually quite delicious – and the garnish really does add a little something special, too!

Mustard Old Fashioned

1¼ oz Ethel’s Eye of Newt
1¼ oz North Shore Bourbon Cask Rum
1-2 dashes Celery Bitters (we use Scrappy’s)

Stir with ice, strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a cornichon on a skewer.
