Winter has arrived on the North Shore, bringing with it those bitter colds that are only exacerbated by the chilly winds from the lake. This time of year we always lean towards richer, more decadent drinks to take the chill off these cold nights, and celebrate the winter holidays before the end of the year!

This cocktail fits the bill perfectly – it’s a deliciously decadent cross between an Espresso Martini and a Brandy Alexander, bringing rich cream and delicate coffee to layer on top of the rich tropical notes of Third Coast Rum.

Holiday Express

1½ oz Third Coast Rum
¾ oz Coffee Liqueur (we use Mr. Black)
¾ oz Half & Half or Heavy Cream
¼ oz Demerara Simple

Shake ingredients with ice, then strain into a chilled coupe glass. This drink doesn’t need a garnish, but you could sprinkle some chocolate shavings or a few coffee beans on top if you’re feeling fancy!
