This fun tiki drink has been on our menu in the tasting room before, and we have it back on our menu this winter as an antidote to the cold, snowy weather! The original recipe calls for “Don’s Mix”, a classic tiki ingredient created by Don the Beachcomber that gives this delicious cocktail layers of complexity. For this version, we’re combining our own grapefruit juice and cinnamon simple in the cocktail instead!
Donga Punch No. 2
1½ oz Third Coast Rum
¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice
¾ oz Grapefruit Juice
¾ oz Cinnamon Simple
Shake ingredients with ice, then strain into Tiki mug over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wedge. Add an edible orchid, or a grapefruit swath, or a cinnamon stick, if desired – extra garnishes are great on this one!
