The Kentucky Derby is coming up this weekend, so we’re making the Brown Derby this week! This cocktail is a classic from the Golden Age of Hollywood, traditionally made with bourbon – our version uses our American-style whiskey, fresh grapefruit and honey. It’s name is actually unrelated to the Kentucky Derby; it’s named after the Brown Derby restaurant in L.A., which had a dome resembling a derby hat.
Brown Derby
2 oz American Whiskey
1 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice
½ oz Honey Simple
Shake ingredients with ice & strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a swath of grapefruit and enjoy!
