Halloween Cocktails
‘Tis the season for spooks & spirits, tricks & treats — it’s Halloween! The holiday provides a wealth of inspiration for unique cocktailing — this year we’ve landed on a fun, campy vibe. We’ve transformed a few of our favorite candies into cocktails, as well as made two drinks inspired by classic monsters and a modern movie monster duo. Check it out!
Classic Halloween Candy-Inspired
Candy Corn
No matter where you come down on the candy corn debate, you’ll love this sweet, citrusy sipper.
1¼ oz Tahitian Vanilla Vodka
¾ oz Orange Liqueur
1¼ oz Fresh Orange Juice
1 oz Egg White
Shake without ice, then add ice and shake HARD. Strain into glass, then slowly pour ~ 1/4 oz apricot liqueur along glass to settle in the bottom.
Sweet Tarts
Surprisingly similar to the tart treats!
1¾ oz Twisted Citrus Vodka
½ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
¼ oz Fresh Lime Juice
¼ oz Passionfruit Liqueur
¼ oz Raspberry Liqueur
¼ oz Banana Liqueur
Shake ingredients with ice, then strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a lemon twist & a lime wedge.
Milky Way
A lot chocolate-y, a little nutty, a little smoky … and all super delicious.
1½ oz Third Coast Rum
½ oz Dark Chocolate Liqueur
¼ oz Smoked Maple Simple
¼ oz Orgeat
1 dash Chocolate Bitters (we’re using Scrappy)
Stir well with ice (for at least 20 seconds). Strain into a chilled coupe glass & garnish with a Milky Way on the side.
Vampires & Werewolves, oh my!
For these last two, we originally took inspiration from classic monsters as we created them, but then realized they also matched a certain modern movie duo! With a few minor edits, and a dash of sparkle, you choose: Team Edward, or Team Jacob?
This Is The Skin Of A Killer, Bella
We originally took inspiration from classic monsters for these last two drinks, but quickly realized they also matched a certain modern movie duo!
2 oz Third Coast Rum
1 oz Tart Cherry Juice
3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
3/4 oz Chai Simple
2 dash Angostura Bitters
1 dash Edible Glitter
Shake all ingredients with ice, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Bella, Where The Hell You Been, Loca?
Deep, rich notes of spice and natural herbaceous tones meld in this cocktail, reminiscent of werewolves & the Pacific Northwest.
1½ oz American Whiskey
1/2 oz Amaro Montenegro
1/2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
1/4 oz Allspice Dram (or Pimento Dram)
1/4 oz Demerara Simple
Shake with ice, then strain into a chilled coupe glass.
