Every year in February we like to have a night that’s all about the tropics, where we turn the temperature up, throw on our most tropical shirts and pretend the tasting room has been transported to an equatorial island. It’s a fun way to offset the chilly, wintery weather as the season starts to drag on, and liven up these dark nights! Of course, a great tropical cocktail is the perfect way to do so.

The Spice Trade is an original here at the distillery; as the name suggests, it has layers and layers of those warming spices that we love during the winter. These are balanced by the addition of bright citrus notes of lime juice & orange, as well as the layered tropical fruit of Third Coast Rum.

Spice Trade

2 oz Third Coast Rum
1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
½ oz Vacation Curaçao
½ oz Demerara Simple
¼ oz Allspice Dram
1 dash Angostura Bitters

Add ingredients to shaker, then shake with ice. Strain into a tiki mug over ice, then garnish with a lime wedge, a cocktail umbrella & any other fun tropical garnishes you have on hand.
