In Rum Recipes

As summer and hot weather approach, tropical-style cocktails offer a refreshing way to enjoy a summer drink! They fit equally well at a backyard cookout and poolside, reminiscent of the palm trees & blue waves of your favorite beach. With this style of cocktail there are so many fun flavors to play around with, and the result is always something complex & tasty.

The Bananarama is bursting with tropical fruit! It builds on the foundation of Third Coast Rum by combining banana, pineapple & lime with rich, nutty orgeat and a touch of saline solution to bring a hint of salty waves.


2 oz Third Coast Rum
1 oz Banana Liqueur
2½ oz Pineapple Juice
1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
3/4 oz Orgeat
5 drops Saline Solution

Shake ingredients with ice, then pour the entire contents of the shaker into a tropical glass. Garnish with a lime wedge & an umbrella, and a pineapple slice & front if you have them on hand!
