If you want to make this cocktail in bulk in a pitcher, you can simply multiply the ingredients by the number of servings you’re aiming to make, and add 1.25 oz of water for each one. Then, you can skip the shaking! Serve over fresh ice – it’s best not to put ice into the pitcher, as it will further dilute the drink. As you probably know, part of a great cocktail is a bit of dilution, so that water helps bring everything together and balance it all out. Below is a recipe for a pitcher of 8 drinks:

16 oz American Whiskey
4 oz Demerara Simple
1 oz Cherry Syrup
16 dashes Angostura Bitters
8 dash Peychaud’s Bitters
10 oz Water

Combine ingredients in a pitcher. Serve over fresh ice & garnish with a cocktail cherry, an orange swath or a cinnamon stick.
