In these dog days of summer, sometimes all you’re looking for is a cold, refreshing drink that’s quick and easy to put together. Enter the Absinthe Frappe; it takes all the elements of the traditional absinthe service – absinthe, sugar & chilled water – but without the length preparation process!
There are a few ways you can get fresh crushed ice at home; one of the oldest and easiest ways is simply putting the ice you need in a bag and crushing it with a rolling pin or wooden mallet.
Absinthe Frappe
1¼ oz Sirène Absinthe Verte
½ oz Demerara Simple
2-3 oz Cold Water
Crush ice to fill a Pilsner glass to the top. In a mixing tin, stir ingredients together without ice. Pour over crushed ice in Pilsner glass, then garnish with a lemons swath.
