Our drink of the week is actually leaving our menu after this week – it was one of the most popular during the spring, but it is time to say goodbye for now. Stop by for one this weekend before it stops being available for awhile!

Queen Bee Fizz

1½ oz North Shore Vodka
¾ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
¾ oz Queen Bee Syrup (see below)
Club Soda

Shake first three ingredients with ice; strain into Collins glass filled with fresh ice. Top with club soda, garnish with a lemon curl.

To make the Queen Bee Syrup, we use a fruit tea, along with honey and plain sugar. Using an all-honey recipe gave us too much honey flavor, so we used a combination of sugar sources.

Queen Bee Syrup
1 cup white sugar
½ cup clover honey
1 cup water
½ cup Lutz Multifruit Tea (available as a loose tea at Garden Fresh stores and other ethnic grocers)

Bring water to a boil, remove from heat. Steep tea in water for 5 minutes, then strain out tea. Add concentrated tea to sugar and honey mixture in a saucepan, bring to a simmer. Simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from heat and cool completely. Store in the fridge in a glass container – will keep for a month (or more).
