While this classic cocktail is generally associated with whiskey these days, the Old Fashioned is one of, and maybe The oldest cocktails and has been made with just about every spirit around. Right now, we are loving it with our bourbonesque whiskey. It is soft, round, and oh so sippable!

(Old School) Old Fashioned

2 oz North Shore Whiskey (or delicious with our Amber Rum too)
½ oz Simple Syrup
Swath of Lemon Peel
3 Dashes Angostura Bitters

In a mixing glass, muddle lemon peel, bitters, and syrup. Add whiskey, ice, and stir to chill. Strain into a chilled rocks glass and garnish with an orange swath.

We’ve also been loving rum in a classic Old Fashioned this fall. Our Amber Rum isn’t modified with sugar as many rums are, so it plays more like a whiskey in cocktails. Here’s a bonus drink of the week to try! Have an old fashioned week, we sure are!
