Now that we’re heading into the cooler months, maple syrup is back! To celebrate, we’ve created a whiskey sour with our American whiskey, maple syrup, fresh lemon and egg white. In addition to giving the drink a frothy texture, the egg white really brings forward the maple flavor.
Our American whiskey is currently only available in our tasting room – it’s made with a corn/rye mash, that we have aged for several years in full-sized, used bourbon barrels.
To make this drink at home, you can substitute a nice bourbon that has a bit of rye in it, or even a rye whiskey.
Maple Whiskey Sour
1½ oz American Whiskey
¾ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
¾ oz Maple Syrup
½ oz Egg White
Shake ingredients without ice, then add ice and shake well. Strain into rocks glass filled with ice & garnish with fresh grated nutmeg.
Cheers!
