This week’s drink of the week features our new limited release, Ethel’s Eye of Newt, in one of the more intriguing drinks we developed for it – it also includes our Sirène Absinthe Verte, which is an unlikely, but delicious companion in this cocktail.
This new cocktail, and many others, are on our new holiday cocktail menu – just launching this week. It’s also a savory, delicious one for Thanksgiving, if you have adventurous drinkers in your family!
Colonel Mustard did It (In the library, with the candlestick)
1 oz Ethel’s Eye of Newt
½ oz Sirène Absinthe Verte
½ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
¼ oz Real Grenadine (we make our own here – see recipe below)
Shake ingredients with ice; strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a lemon curl.
To make your own grenadine, put 1½ cups sugar and 1 cup pomegranate juice in a saucepan (we use POM). Bring it to a simmer, then simmer 1-2 minutes. Cool completely, then add 1 tbsp. pomegranate molasses and 1/2 tsp orange flower water. Stir well, then store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
