In North Shore Vodka Recipes

Our beloved bartender Frank created this drink earlier this summer – it was actually his first official contribution to our menu, and it has been a huge hit around here! While we are saying goodbye to this drink next week with our menu change to late summer and fall cocktails, we wanted to celebrate it once more and share it with you. Stop by for one this weekend if you’re in the area!

Berry Backhand

In a pint glass or shaker tin, muddle:
1 Strawberry, cut into chunks
2-3 Mint Leaves
1 oz Honey Syrup (2:1 honey to hot water)
½ oz Fresh Lemon Juice

1½ oz North Shore Vodka

Shake with ice, strain into rocks glass over fresh ice. Fine-strain if you don’t want any bits of berry & mint in it. Garnish with a swath of lemon peel, or a sprig of fresh mint.

PS, the way you’ll be able to identify Frank’s drinks on our menus will likely be by their use of terms from the sport of water polo – Frank was an avid player for many years, and the backhand is a powerful shot in water polo!
