A great place called Eataly opened in Chicago a few months ago – if you haven’t heard of it, you are missing out (especially if you are a lover of all things Italian – great pastas, cheeses, meats, wines, and so much more). And, they have an amazing fine dining restaurant that opened a bit more recently, Baffo, which is connected to the store. Recently, we were invited to teach the staff at Baffo about our spirits, and we jumped at the chance.
Sonja and Sarah walked their team through the history of our distillery, and tasted them through a range of our spirits as well. We also made a new cocktail for them, which they seemed to really enjoy as well. Here’s the recipe, in case you want to try it:
O Sole Mio (or the Sole Splendente, maybe?)
1½ oz Sol Chamomile Citrus Vodka
½ oz Aperol (a great Italian amaro)1/4 oz Simple Syrup
¼ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
2½ oz Prosecco
Shake the first four ingredients with ice; strain into a champagne flute. Top with Prosecco, garnish with a long lemon curl.
Thanks Stephen and the team at Baffo for having us!
