February 2010 News & Notes

Winter Projects
We are hard at work on our next limited release, it is going to be really great! More information is coming in the next few weeks. In addition, we are close to announcing our launch in another state - stay tuned!

Our products are distributed in Illinois, Indiana, California and Ontario. Also, if you know anyone in Iowa, Montana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, or Washington, some of our spirits are available by special order there. We'll help you find 'em, just ask!

Distiller's Club Relaunch
In addition, we are planning to reintroduce our Distlller's Club in the next few weeks. Our Club is for fans of our products, and includes invites to member-only events, among other benefits. We will have a member-only event in late March or early April. If you're not a member yet, but want to join, apply for membership here.

Hang with Ethel
Our still, Ethel, has gone public with her own online accounts. Find her on Twitter and Facebook. Just forewarning you, she's a bit feisty.

Absinthe Cocktails

On her blog, Sonja is hosting this month's Mixology Monday, where cocktail bloggers around the world write about the same topic. This month's theme is Absinthe, which has us in an absinthe state of mind.

Chrysanthemum Cocktail
1 oz Benedictine
3/4 oz Dry Vermouth
1/2 oz Sirène Absinthe Verte

Stir ingredients with ice; strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a swath of orange peel (and do not leave off the garnish - it makes the drink).

Absinthe Minded
From our friends at The Party Source
3 oz. Distiller’s Gin No. 6
½ oz. Sirène Absinthe Verte
½ oz. Grand Marnier
Dash of Noilly Prat Dry Vermouth

Combine and stir well with ice, strain into a pre-chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a flamed orange peel and/or an onion-stuffed olive.

Notes from the Land of Drinks

Chefs Cooking Up Cocktails
Grant Achatz cocktails and molecular mixology. Anyone tried one of these yet?

Just Say No (to Energy Drinks)
Not that we were encouraging it anyway, but a new study says mixing alcohol and energy drinks is bad.

It's not Vodka, it's Vodkat
They're not selling it here (yet). We do see things that are not vodka on the vodka shelf and/or marketed as vodka. No wonder it seems so light & smooth, it's got half the alcohol.

Sarah Palin Addressing WSWA
Recently the Washington Post wrote about the distributors, and how they limit consumer access. Ms. Palin is the keynote speaker at their upcoming conference... no one is sure how they picked her.

Beer is Good for you Again
Because it contains silicon, which you need.
