We participate in events at the Chicago Botanic Garden a few times a year, and coming up with a cocktail that matches the beauty of the setting is a challenge that we relish. This year, for their annual Evening with Orchids, we chose the Lavender Fizz. It’s a delicious take on a Tom Collins, one of the great old cocktails from the late 1800’s. The lavender compliments our modern dry gin perfectly, and it’s as beautiful as it is refreshing!
Add gin, lemon juice, and syrup to a Collins glass and stir. Fill the glass with ice and top with soda; stir again briefly. Garnish with fresh sprig of lavender or a lemon curl.
