In Gin No. 6 Recipes, Sirène Absinthe Verte Recipes

This week’s cocktail is based on the Savoy Cocktail Book classic Corpse Reviver No. 2, and creating it took a little ingenuity on our part…

The most well known Corpse Reviver (No. 2) calls for Lillet, which we are not able to pour at our Tasting Room. After some time tinkering, we found a great work around using Bitter Orange syrup from our pals at Top Note Tonic paired with a spiced syrup. It mimics the Lillet contributions to the cocktail quite well and has even won over a few hard core Corpse Reviver fans. The classic recipe follows our recipe. Try them both!

Corpse Reviver No. 3

1 oz Distiller’s Gin No. 6
1 oz Orange Liqueur (like Cointreau, since we’re not selling ours)
½ oz Top Note Tonic Bitter Orange
¼ oz Spiced Orange Syrup
1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
Dash Sirène Absinthe Verte

Shake ingredients with ice; strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a cherry.

… and the classic
Corpse Reviver No. 2

1 oz Lillet Blanc (or Cocchi Americano, which is reputedly closer to the original Kina Lillet used in the recipe)
